Transformers 3 - Something’s Missing
(warning: may contain spoilers.)
…so, the other day, I did rant about T3, but I also mentioned that I’m watching it despite you know what, and true enough, I did watch Transformers 3.
The movie was… well, how do we put it? Well…t’was good. The robots were kick-ass, the sounds were great, and the special effects were amazing. I did see Shia, a little of Josh, John Turturro, Mikaela’s pet dog, and Miss Pettigrew (Frances McDormand). ^-^
It was more of a serious movie with lesser funny lines and a few screen shots of funny characters. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Witwicky thrice or four times I guess. Wheelie and his friend were, for me, more useful characters than Carly. lol.
In fairness, it was good. But there was something missing, (set aside Mikaela, unless you treat here as a “thing”),there’s just something I was looking for that made me a wee bit disappointed. I liked the CGI, the action, the robots, some lines (I guess), but the plot — there’s something about the plot and as much as I would want to tell you what that thing is, I really can’t because to be honest, I’m out of wits to actually figure out what. o_0
Mikaela’s replacement, Carly, is of course the real leading lady if we base it from the animated series because, as mentioned in my earlier post, Mikaela is patterned from Carly while Sam is from Spike. But I’d still go for Mikaela because she and Sam have chemistry. I get it, Megan’s fired and before I watched the movie itself, I prepared myself to actually give Rosie a chance - you know, maybe she’s good, perhaps better, but to my dismay, she isn’t. If they were really replacing Megan with another, and with a character that’s really for Sam, at least they looked for someone with Shia’s chemistry, if not with good acting talent, at least with chemistry. Whenever Carly approaches Sam, I feel no spark. It was flat. There was no love. It was, forced.
Also, Ironhide died. I can’t believe it. I like Ironhide. I like him next to Optimus, who is next to Bee. Then, Sentinel Prime’s plot was so predictable. But I do like the fact that O. Prime is huge now. I saw some fan videos of him in the set and by there I knew he was big, I just didn’t know he was that big. He made Bumblebee look like a toddler beside him. What else? Gee. I’m tired. I should put a close to this now. ahaha.
I think the movie is not what I really expected, or maybe I was expecting too much from it. But I expected too much from The Lord of the Rings and it didn’t fail me. In fact, I can’t wait for The Hobbit!, or should I not expect too much too because it may end up like T3? Hopefully not.
So, what did I get from Transformers 3? At least, by now I know where the poster came from, except that Bumblebee was replaced by Optimus Prime. And that the people I should thank the most are the ones behind the sounds and the special effects. Well, thank you also to Bay, the actors, and the producers for giving us this summer flick. But really, THANK YOU TO THE SOUNDS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS TEAM. hahaha… ‘till here! :)
